Denis Lavaud was born in Saint-Jean-d’Angély, Charente-Maritime, in Southwest France.
He’s the holder of a diploma taken at the ENILIA (national school for dairy industry) in Surgères (Charente-Maritime, France) and has always dreamt of making and marketing his own ice creams.

As an epicurean, his combination of small-scale production with traditional values is a guarantee of know-how and quality.

This “Maître Artisan Glacier” thinks he has a moral contract with his customers, based on confidence and on the constant search for new creations.




In 1996, Denis Lavaud creates L.Angélys. His dream finally came true.
At first, his ice creams were sold locally in old style kiosks. Now they are sold throughout France. Passion, professionalism & rigour are the qualities by which the company obtained the acknowledgement of the greatest gourmets.



Willing to share his passion and to show his know-how, Denis Lavaud opens the door of his company.

Open days
The public discovers the various steps of creation, and then tastes the new flavours.

Discovery workshops
All through the year, the workshops satisfy the curiosity of the old and young…gourmets.

Junior Lab
This original concept is meant to make the youth aware of the real taste of nature, strong, true and sometimes surprising!
They visit, discover, make their own ice cream and enjoy “surprise” tasting.
